The Department of Infrastructural Development is saddled with the engineering conception of all roads/bridge infrastructure projects in Kaduna State. Also involved in the supervision of construction works to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with design standards and specification. We are responsible for carrying out preliminary site investigation, preparation of design and bill of engineering measurement and evaluation, as well as the appraisal of tenders for proposed projects. Engaged in collecting, analyzing and reporting on tests independently carried out by contractors. Carrying out on the spot design of various items of the scope of work as may be required, addressing request for information (RFI) from consultants/contractors related to design and specification issues, liaising between contractors and host communities where projects are located, including carrying out quality control test for soil, bitumen and concrete. We undertake site verification, vetting and recommending for payment of contractors’ interim certificate of valuation, analyzing the technical viability for additional work items requested by contractors and make necessary recommendations.
